#CARVENSEENBY Manon Prothon

For its Advent Calendar , Carven gave carte blanche to 20 artists, each of whom was asked to revisit a key item in the 2018 cruise collection. For the leather Twin bag, Serge Ruffieux commissioned Manon Prothon, a photographer whose floral universe revives the photogramm technique. Who are you ?
I'm 25 years old, and I grew up in Paris. I owe my culture and sensibility to my father. Through his work, I discovered the beauty of nature and the beauty of differences. He taught me how to decipher the language of art.
What does this pre-Christmas period mean to you ?
The certainty that the denouement is close, this comfort that recalls one's childhood, this throwback feeling, with its imperfections as well as its qualities.
What would be your ultimate artistic dream for the year 2018 ?
May this year continue to nuture and grow what we created at 5 rue Portefoin in Paris: a place for reconciliation, and interaction between art and flowers. My work as a photographer made me discover flowers, which led me to learn the florist trade in order to acquire knowledge in botany and in the art of working with flowers in large quantities. Today I try to fuse the worlds of art and flowers.
